If you want to visit an inmate at the jail, you must first fill out an application and obtain approval. This process can take up to thirty days for processing. Once approved, an inmate can have up to three 30-minute visitations per week.

Sheriff / Calhoun County Inmate Roster
Sheriff Glenn Kimbrel is a former Blountstown Police Department with over 35 years on the force. From 1975 to 1984 Kimbrel served as a patrolman. From 1987 to 1991 he served as an investigator/lieutenant. From 1991to 1993 he served as a captain. From 1993 to 2002 he served as a major. He was chief of police from 2004 to 2011 in the city of Blountstown. He was acting interim city manager in 2007. He has been a member of the Calhoun-Liberty County Task Force and a volunteer fireman for Blountstown since 1980. He was first elected sheriff of Calhoun County in 2012.

About Calhoun County, Florida / Calhoun County Inmate Roster
Calhoun County was established in 1838. The county is named for John C. Calhoun, a member of the United States Senate from South Carolina. Calhoun served as the United States Vice-President under both John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson. The County seat was originally St Joseph, but it is now in Blountstown.
The county is only 574 square miles. About seven square miles of that is water with the Apalachicola River on its east side. In addition, the county has a total area of 574 square miles, of which 567 square miles of this area is made up of land and 7 square miles is made up of water. Further, the county is bordered on its east side by the Apalachicola River, and it is bisected by the Chipola River.
The county isn’t served by any U.S. highways or interstate. Rather, the nearest access to the interstate highway system is I-10 in Sneads, Florida, which is located in neighboring Jackson County. In addition, the nearest access to the U.S. Highway System is U.S. Route 231, which is located in northeastern Bay County, Florida. The county is also home to the Blountstown Jail. Demographic statistics for the county are routinely collected and published. According to the census of 2000, Calhoun County had 13,017 people making up 4,468 households. The population density was only 23 people per square mile at that time.
The county was made up of 79.87% White people and 15.79 Black people. In addition, 3.78% of the population was Hispanic or Latino. The rest of the population was shared by Native Americans, Asians, and Pacific Islanders.
Household income in the county, according to that census, was $26,575, and the average median income for a family was $32,848. Thus, about 20% of all citizens living in the county were living below the poverty level.
