The Glades County Jail is operated under the Glades County Sheriff’s Office and supervised by the chief deputy. During the intake process, a $25 booking fee is charged for non-federal inmates. Within 24 hours of arrest, if not bonded out of jail, an arrested person appears before a judge and is informed of his or her charge and bond amount. Jail Visitation Hours

Visitation hours at the jail are from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on any day of the week. Each Glades County Jail visit is limited to two hours. Up to four visitors may see an inmate at a time. The Glades County Jail does not allow contact under any circumstances. Each visitor must be on the inmate’s visitation list and provide a valid photo ID to be permitted. Before scheduling a visit, it is recommended that you first confirm the inmate’s presence by conducting a Glades County inmate search here.

Remote visitation is possible via remote video. The number of remote video visits is not limited, and any number of visitors may be on the call at a time. These video calls cost $0.66 per minute in 30-minute blocks ($19.80). They can be scheduled here or by using the Telmate kiosk in the detention center lobby.

Friends and family may deposit funds into inmates’ accounts for phone calls. They may also send voicemail messages for inmates. Inmates may place collect calls from housing units from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Sheriff David Hardin is the current sheriff of the county. He has held positions at the sheriff’s office since 1999 and was first elected sheriff in 2016. He also previously worked at the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office.
