The Hamilton County Jail offers reintegration programming for condemned men. On average, the Hamilton County Jail has over 50 inmates working in its in-office work lines with administration, kitchen, laundry, and more. The jail’s staff also supervise the Hamilton County Work Leave Center.

Hamilton County Jail Visitation Hours

Visiting hours at Hamilton County Jail are Tuesday to Sunday from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Inmates can have two 45-minute onsite or video visits each week. All visitors are subject to warrant and arrest checks and must follow the posted rules of visitation.

After serving as deputy sheriff of Hamilton County for 10 years, J. Harrell Reid was elected Sheriff in 1988 and has been serving in this capacity since. His honors and affiliations are vast including being on the Florida Sheriffs Association Boards in multiple positions and being appointed to the Medical Examiners Commission by various Florida governors.

About Hamilton County, FL

Hamilton County was founded on December 26, 1827, from parts of Jefferson County. It is named after Alexander Hamilton, the United State’s first Secretary of the Treasury. The borders have remained the same since its founding and it remains the only county in all of Florida that is completely north of Interstate 10. The city of Jasper serves as the county seat and holds the sheriff’s office and county jail.
