Visitation / Madison County Inmate Search

The jail permits visitation with inmates. For visitation hours and to schedule a visit with an inmate, please call the facility at 850-973-4002. However, before scheduling a visit, it is highly recommended that you first confirm the inmate’s presence at the jail by conducting a Madison County inmate search here. Each visitor at the jail is required to be on the inmate’s visitors list. In addition, a valid ID card is required to visit at the jail. All visits last for a maximum of one hour. Further, children who are under 18 years old may not visit the facility and may not wait in the parking lot or lobby unattended during visitation.

Inmates are permitted to receive and send mail. Mail is delivered to the jail on Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Except for legal or privileged mail, which is opened by staff in the presence of inmates, all mail is inspected by facility staff for contraband before delivery to inmates. The county is located in the Florida Panhandle. Founded in 1827, it was named for James Madison, who was the fourth President of the United States of America and served from 1809 to 1817.
