• Video visitations are allotted 20 minutes each.

• All visitors must wear appropriate clothing.

Physical mail sent by post to the jail will not be accepted. Inmates are only able to receive mail through the system SmartMail. Accounts for SmartMail must be set up for the inmates to be able to receive mail. To set up an account, click here. Family and friends can place money on the inmates account for them to be able to send mail. Messages and photos all cost points which accumulate to a specific dollar amount.

Sheriff’s Office

Polk County Sheriff’s office is a full service law enforcement office. It offers many programs for children and adults in Polk County to aid in crime prevention. Some of the options for adults include Neighborhood Watch and C.A.T., which stands for Combat Auto Theft.

Sheriff

Sheriff Grady Judd is the current sheriff of Polk County Florida. His career with the Polk County Sheriff’s office began in 1972 when he started out as a dispatcher. As he continued to rise through the ranks he was eventually elected as sheriff in 2004. Sheriff Judd has earned multiple higher education degrees and is even a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Polk County is located in the central portion of Florida. For a large part of the 20th century Polk County was the leading citrus county in the United States. It received its name from the 11th president, James Knox Polk, and was founded in 1861, only a month after Florida had seceded from the Union.
